A lot of people make new year's resolutions and a lot of nappies make resolutions specifically about their hair. Since I'm trying to grow healthy hair, I've decided to make a few hair resolutions myself.
1. Try protective styling. Protective syling will help me retain length and hopefully stop me from doing damage to my hair. Many naturals swear by it so I figure it can't hurt to try. It will also give me an opportunity to try out new styles without overly manipulating my hair. I figure I'll try a new style and see if I can make it last for 2 weeks.
2. Pre-poo and deep condition. I've recently tried pre-pooing at the advice of my BFF and I love it. Pre-pooing has helped my hair retain moisture and adds shine. It also makes my hair soft and fluffy. Deep conditioning has helped keep my ends from being fuzzy and makes my hair easy to detangle.
3. Keep my regimen simple. I'm really trying to keep things (including my products) simple when it comes to my hair. Too much of a good thing can backfire. Keeping it simple will cut down on manipulation as well.
4. Pay attention and take care of my hair. I want to make sure I pay attention to how my hair (and scalp) reacts to different regimens and products. At the same time, I want to take care to make sure I'm not damaging it. It's thinning in the front and I've had split ends, and I want to make sure it doesn't get any worse. I realize my hair won't grow if it's damaged for whatever reason.
5. Take care of my body. I also realize that if I take care of my body from the inside, the outside will be healthy as well. I need to start back on my exercise regimen and eating right. Taking my vitamins and medications won't hurt either.
So that's my list and I think I can manage it. I'm trying to fine tune my regimen now so everything is in motion for a healthy year for my hair.
Do you have any hair resolutions?
Til next time, thanks for reading. Be blessed.
